In order to fit certain ideals of "beauty" women used to literally bind their waists. If you like this sort of thing, wear it. But I dont wanna live in a world where people feel like they have to distort their bodies in order to be "loved" but I suppose we all do that in some way. (Based on an illustration found in a public domain comic book on comicbookplus)
